The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has proposed to hike its fare by Re1. With this hike, the minimum fare has gone up to Rs 5 and maximum Rs34. This is the second fare hike by the PMPML over the last five months. The board of directors of the PMPML proposed the hike following rise in prices of diesel prices recently.
If the fare hike continues in such a way, then commuters will prefer having two and four-wheelers which will ultimately put extra pressure on the city roads and traffic.
