With the increase in the number of vehicles in the city, driving sense needs to be inculcated in citizens. Thus, the city traffic police have joined hands with Vodafone India Ltd and Icap, an NGO for the forthcoming Traffic Safety fortnight programme of the state government in order to spread awareness about safety rules and work towards saving more lives on roads.The programme will commence from January 1, 2013 and will conclude on January 15.
The company and traffic police will distribute key chains, caps and T-shirts to the people found following traffic rules and using all the safety gears.
The special drive will be executed at 20 different junctions in Pune and Pimpri – Chinchwad in 15 days. The company will also distribute helmets to city policemen.
