The citizens and organizations from Pimpri Chinchwad will be able to book the playgrounds and badminton halls of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) online. Now people will not have to come to the sports department offices to book a play round or badminton halls of the civic body. It will save their time and transportation cost. The people will know online about the days or timings on which these places can be booked.
Some of the major sports grounds run by the sports department are Madanlal Dhingra ground in Nigdi-Pradhikaran, Annasaheb Magar stadium at Nehrunagar(Pimpri), sports complex at Indrayaninagar, Babasaheb Ambedkar football stadium at Sant Tukaramnagar(Pimpri) and Major Dhyanchand polygrass hockey stadium at Nehrunagar(Pimpri). The sports department also runs eight swimming pools located at Yamunanagar(Nigdi), Akurdi, Nehrunagar(Pimpri), Kasarwadi, Bhosari, Mohannagar and Keshavnagar in Chinchwad.
Neelkanth Poman, computer officer, said, “The online booking system for the playgrounds and badminton halls of the civic body was started a week ago. Five people booked five playgrounds using this system and have made a payment of Rs 3,500 to the civic body through their credit cards.” Subhash Machare, head of sports department, said the people will be able to do booking of one squash court, four lawn tennis courts, 13 playgrounds and 13 badminton halls of the sports department.
