Thundershowers occurred in most parts of the city including Katraj, Dhankawdi, Swargate, Deccan Gymkhana, Karvenagar, Kothrud and adjoining areas.
“The ongoing pre-monsoon rains are an indication of favourable conditions for the southwest monsoon to move over parts of Maharashtra in the next two to three days,” said Medha Khole, deputy director general for weather forecasting at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here. The IMD has predicted a 51% to 75% probability of rain and thundershowers in some parts of the city in the next 24 hours. The IMD’s all-India weather bulletin stated that the monsoon had advanced into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, remaining parts of coastal Karnataka, some parts of north interior and south interior Karnataka, parts of Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu and southwest and central Bay of Bengal
Let us hope that we do not have to face the waterlogging situation & trauma of potholes. PMC hadcliamed that they are adquately prepared to tackle the issues arising in monsoon.
